We started the work in November which was a wet and windy project for my team! The project began with an excavation of the foundations followed by the build of the small extension. We then began ripping out the existing utility and cloakroom and preparation of the area for the large steel beams installation.
The next stage was the roof. The team worked hard to keep the job watertight, being the rainiest time of year! We installed a fibreglass GRP flat roof system that comes with a 25 year product warrantee to waterproof the roof.
Following this stage we then installed a solid hardwood timber facia detail to cover the steels and roof and a 6 meter aluminium roof lantern which set off the internal finishes. The doors and windows to the extension are anthracite grey aluminium, this makes a lovely finish to the extension and enhances the look in my opinion.
The internal walls were insulated and plaster skimmed, then decorated by the customer. The floors were tiled with underfloor heating connected to the boiler system, kitchen and utility installed and all new electrics to complement the area.
The new shower room and cloak room were then installed to complete the internal work along with supplying and fitting of the new oak doors to the new rooms.
