In August 2019, we put 20 years of experience designing and building extensions in this project for a client in All Cannings, nearby our base in Devizes. The homeowners of this delightful cottage wanted a more space and a new kitchen fitted.
So, we set to work delivering a spacious, light and airy kitchen in keeping with the character of the current aesthetic of their home. This quaint thatched cottage in the village of All Cannings near Devizes received a new kitchen extension that is a mix of style and functionality.
We started this project by demolishing an old shed that was attached to the side of this charming, thatched cottage.
Once the unwanted shed was removed, our team set to work laying the new reliable foundations.
The new kitchen consisted of a brick construction with steel beams, enhanced with high quality wood bi-folding doors and windows. The brickwork was painted white to match in with the rest of the cottage masonry.
The client was so pleased with the results he extended the project to include the laying of a patio leading off of the new kitchen extension. Our team at KL & Sons Building Services project managed and executed the entire build, including a full kitchen installation with electrics and plumbing.
We’re particularly pleased with the roof which was constructed using dark slate tiles in keeping with the rest of the building, and a modern but minimalist carbon fibre resin flat roof for up-to-date protection against the weather.
